COVID-19 UPDATE:

TOURS

Facial coverings are no longer mandatory in public transportation as per the Ontario Government. However, the Team at Sandbanks Vacations encourages you to still wear a mask while in the vehicles to protect yourself and our drivers. For information on current tour capacities and guidelines, please contact us directly.

Cleaning Policies and Procedures

Sandbanks Vacations wants to make sure you feel safe and comfortable in your vacation rental this season. Since we began in 2009, we have always had high cleaning standards, and we will continue to make sure we are at the highest level of cleaning and disinfecting.

To keep everyone safe, we have updated our cleaning procedures to be in line with The Health & Safety Board of Ontario and the Municipality of Prince Edward County Accommodations Sector. Please see below for our detailed cleaning policies and procedures:

Tours

Tours Policies and Protocols:
Vehicle Cleaning & Disinfectant Procedures:

  • All tour vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between tours.
  • We use a spray disinfectant that has a Drug Identification Number (DIN). We follow the product label for dilutions and contact time required to be effective and safe.
  • Tour vehicles are equipped with hand sanitizer and Lysol wipes for guide and guest use.

Accommodations

Accommodation Cleaning and Disinfection Procedures:

  • We use a spray disinfectant that has a Drug Identification Number (DIN). We follow the product label for dilutions and contact time required to be effective and safe.
  • Our cleaning team opens all the windows while they are cleaning to get airflow through the house.
  • All surfaces are disinfected and sanitized: We wipe down everything, including light switches, doorknobs, remote controls, etc.
  • All linens and towels are cleaned and sanitized prior to your stay.
  • Couches and chairs are vacuumed and sprayed prior to your stay.
  • Kitchen: toasters, coffee makers, and all appliances are wiped down and sanitized.
  • Bathrooms: showers, tubs, toilets, and sinks are disinfected and sanitized, including all faucets, switches, handles, and floors.

We ask that our guests make sure that everyone they are travelling with is healthy and have not been in contact with anyone that has or may have COVID-19. Please follow these guidelines while you are travelling and staying here in Prince Edward County:

Self-Protection Guidelines:

  • Stay at home if you are sick to avoid spreading germs to others.
  • Practice diligent hand hygiene always. Wash your hands regularly with plain soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer with no less than 60% alcohol content (ideally 70%).
  • Practice cough etiquette. Cough into your elbow or cover your mouth and nose with a tissue that is immediately disposed of in an appropriate waste bin and wash your hands immediately.
  • Maintain a two-meter distance from others
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Do not share food, drinks, or utensils
  • Avoid touching the personal items of others. Wash hands or sanitize immediately if you do.

Staying in a Vacation Rental this season may look and feel different than it has in the past. Generally, vacation rentals are stocked up with coffee, tea, spices, board games, and books – all things to make your stay feel more like home. Unfortunately, with the current state, many of our homes are not going to offer these items as it will be too hard to disinfect these items and keep our guests safe.

TRAVELLING TIPS

  • Bring your own groceries and supplies: we ask that you shop in your hometown prior to coming to Prince Edward County.
  • If you are bringing your own linens, please advise us so that we can communicate with our cleaning team, and we will leave the beds unmade for your convenience.
  • Have sanitizer in your vehicle and/or purse so that you can disinfect wherever you go.
  • Bring your own toiletries. Some homes may have single-use shampoo/conditioner provided, but that will not last a week.
  • Make sure you bring games and books in case you have a rainy day. Some of our homes may no longer be supplying these items for safety reasons.
  • Many establishments will be operating at a very minimal occupancy: you will have longer wait times to get into stores, restaurants, and wineries. Please plan accordingly.
  • Sandbanks Provincial Park: if the park is open for visitors, please be mindful of their rules and regulations. In addition, there will most likely be limitations on guest count at the park to adhere to provincial physical distancing measures. Please plan accordingly as there may be long line ups.
  • We also ask that you are very polite and respectful to all staff working at any establishment in Prince Edward County. They are all doing their best to keep you, your family, and themselves safe during these uncertain times. We thank you in advance for your patience and consideration.

The Team at Sandbanks Vacations hopes you have a fun and relaxing vacation while staying with us!

*Please note, we may have to adjust your Check-In and Check-Out times to ensure our cleaners have time to do a thorough clean and disinfection of the home. Please make sure to check your email before arrival to stay up to date on changes to your booking.
