Holiday Events In The County
There are numerous holiday events happening throughout Prince Edward County this holiday season. Many of these events are coming up soon – at the end of November or early December, so be sure to mark your calendars!
Bloomfield Festival of Lights
Happening on November 29th at 6:30 pm, this night-time holiday parade is not to be missed! The small town of Bloomfield transforms into lights, glamour, and glitz as holiday-themed parades and floats take over Main street.
Come down early and enjoy chili and hot chocolate at the town hall, starting at 4 pm! Food vendors will also be available on Main Street throughout the parade. Get all of the parade details here.
Pro Tip: Main street closes at 6 pm, so be sure to arrive beforehand.
Festival of Trees
Starting Friday, November 29th and ending Sunday, December 1st, you can enjoy the Festival of Trees at Isaiah Tubbs Resort in West Lake. This annual event features a silent auction of hundreds of decorated Christmas trees. There will also be a Christmas boutique, festive entertainment, visits from Santa for the kids, and a preserves and bake sale (for the adults with a sweet tooth).
This event is not to be missed! It’s sponsored by the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. All proceeds go towards supporting healthcare needs in Prince Edward County. Read more about the Festival of Trees here.
Picton’s Santa Clause Parade
On Sunday, December 1st at 1 pm you can enjoy a second parade along Picton’s Main street! Get ready for clowns, marching bands, and floats (oh my). You can find all of the parade details, including the exact route, here.
Come extra early to enjoy a Pancake Breakfast at the Prince Edward Yacht Club between 9 am – 12 pm. Fill up on pancakes before watching the parade. (Main street closes at 12 pm, so be sure to settle in for the parade before then.)
Ameliasburgh’s Christmas in the Village
After the Santa clause parade in Picton, head over to Amerliasburgh Heritage Village to experience Christmas in the Village from 1 pm – 4 pm on December 1st.
You can enjoy Christmas crafts, horse and wagon rides, festive music, storytime, cookie decorating stations, a candy cane hunt, a pulled pork lunch, and much more! Free admission and fun for the whole family, what’s not to love? Find full details here.
Wellington’s Who-Ville Christmas
On December 7th, come on out to Wellington’s Who-Ville Christmas – “who” costumes optional (or are they?). The town invites you to show them WHO you are by dressing up and joining in the who-ville holiday events!
The exact itinerary for this event isn’t specified, but it’s sure to feature crafts for the kids and photos with Santa. There may even be a winter market and carnival! Bring the whole family and celebrate the holidays who-ville style. Find full details here.
Christmas in Consecon
On Sunday, December 8th you can enjoy yet another parade in Consecon! The parade is open to anyone and everyone – you can enter a float, drive your favourite car, ride your favourite horse, or participate on foot (and even bring your favourite dog). You can register ahead of time by calling or emailing Amanda (613-661-9388, firstname.lastname@example.org) – or simply “show up by 12 Noon on December 8th. at the junction of Consecon Main St and County Road 29 (formally Mill St.) in the village of Consecon.”
The fun doesn’t start with the parade – there’s plenty to do beforehand too. From 9 am to 11 am you can enjoy breakfast with Mrs. Clause and Santa’s elves at the Consecon Legion. Then head over to the Masonic Hall for FREE family-friendly crafts, face painting, a reindeer feed station, and a balloon man from 10 am to 1 pm.
After the parade, gather outside the Consecon Legion at 4 pm for the official tree lighting ceremony.
Did we mention that Santa clause will also have goodie bags for all the kids, and Mrs. Clause will be hard at work making cotton candy for the parade? Christmas in Consecon is not to be missed! Find full details here.
