Local farmer’s markets swing into action enabling us to enjoy the sweet tastes of locally grown fruits and vegetables.

It All Starts with Local Growers

With Prince Edward County’s rich agricultural heritage and a strong sense of community, a farmers’ market in The County offers a beautiful experience enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

No visit to this region is complete between Victoria Day Weekend and Thanksgiving Weekend without a visit to a Prince Edward County market.

Isn’t it a great feeling to stroll along a farmer’s market lane and have the opportunity to chat with the person who just baked that fresh pie, filled with locally grown rhubarb, or the artisan who knitted those mittens, or etched that stone? When you attend a local farmer’s market, you are experiencing first-hand, what “farm-to-table” eating is all about. It is all about freshness, quality, and a passion for the many delicious flavours made possible by our farmers.

Picton Town Hall Farmers Market

The Picton Town Hall Farmers Market is located in downtown Picton at the corner of Ross and King Streets. Open on Sundays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM from mid-May to mid-October, rain, or shine.

What better place to enjoy a Sunday morning than to mingle with fellow marketgoers and support local growers, producers, and artisans than at the iconic Picton Town Hall Farmers Market? Look forward to being served a wide variety of fruits and vegetables from local farms, unique crafts from local makers, as well as many preserves, cheeses, and more.

The Picton Town Hall is abuzz with lively conversation, laughter and mouth-watering aromas from freshly baked goods and other food stalls.

The Picton Town Hall Farmer’s Market is not just a place to buy local produce and crafts, this market is a place where everyone comes together on Sundays to celebrate our community, our local talent, and the flavours of the land.

Wellington Farmers Market

Wellington Farmers Market is located at the Eddie Hotel & Farm, 4 km east of Wellington, at 15786 Loyalist Parkway (Hwy 33). This market is touted to be the largest farmers market in PEC, open from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM every Saturday from mid-May to mid-October, rain, or shine. Plenty of free parking is available on site.

The Wellington Farmers Market offers a delightful blend of fresh fruits and vegetables, local artisanal crafts, and freshly prepared delicacies. Visitors can wander through the farmer’s market stalls, enjoying the many local crafts and enticing aromas of the County’s finest offerings.

From farm-fresh fruits and vegetables to artisan cheeses, bread, and pastries, the market showcases the exceptional quality and flavours made possible by our local farmers.

And while at the Wellington Farmer’s Market, check out the Eddie Hotel and Farm’s 78-acre farm, a very popular venue for weddings, corporate events, and numerous musical and other stage performances.

Wellington Community Market

The Wellington Community Market is in the parking lot at the Wellington United Church, 243 Main Street, Wellington. This not-for-profit operation features local growers, artisans, winemakers, distillers, and more. Operating every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM from Victoria Day Weekend to Thanksgiving Weekend, rain, or shine.

Wellington United Community Church, the site of the Wellington Community Market, is in the heart of Wellington directly along the northern shores of Lake Ontario. Immediately to the west of the church is Wellington Park, long regarded by the locals as “The Coolest Spot in The County“. This is the perfect place to cool off on a hot summer’s day and enjoy a picnic lunch as those cool southeastern breezes blow in from Lake Ontario.

Whether you’re seeking a unique gift, a delicious treat, or simply a welcoming atmosphere, the Wellington Community Market truly embodies the spirit of our community.
